Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026
This policy explains how the DICOM Viewer Android app (package net.inettools.dicomviewer) handles data when viewing medical files offline.
The app is published by InetTools. For privacy questions, contact us at support@inettools.net.
The app lets users choose a medical file on the device, preview an image, inspect technical metadata, switch frames or slices, adjust window center and width, zoom, palette and inversion, then export a PNG preview or JSON metadata through the standard Android share menu.
The app is intended for technical file inspection and does not replace medical diagnosis, PACS, or specialist physician software.
The user chooses a file through the system file picker. The app processes the selected file content, file name, size, format, image dimensions, frames, pixel data, and technical metadata only to display the result on the device.
DICOM files may contain personal medical data, including patient name, ID, birth date, study date, modality, and other tags. Patient tags are hidden by default and are shown only after the user explicitly enables them.
The app does not require a name, phone number, address, email, account, payment data, or other contact information.
Viewing is performed locally on the device inside the embedded WebView using HTML canvas and a local JavaScript parser. Selected DICOM, DICOMDIR, NIfTI, NRRD/NHDR, and MHA/MHD files are not uploaded to InetTools servers for processing, previewing, or saving.
PNG or JSON exports are created in the app's temporary cache and passed to the Android share menu when the user taps an export button. Temporary cache can be removed through Android system settings or by uninstalling the app.
The core file viewer works offline and does not use a backend API. The INTERNET permission is used to safely open external links to Google Play, RuStore, and this privacy policy page, and to send technical AppMetrica analytics and Sentry error reports.
Selected medical files, pixel data, canvas contents, exported PNG/JSON files, and extracted metadata are not sent to InetTools, AppMetrica, or Sentry servers.
The app uses separate AppMetrica and Sentry projects for package net.inettools.dicomviewer. AppMetrica may receive technical app events such as app launch, session, app version, device and operating system details, diagnostic events, and crash information. Sentry may receive error reports, crash reports, diagnostic breadcrumbs, and technical details needed to fix issues.
The app does not send name, email, phone number, contacts, payment data, selected medical files, image contents, DICOM metadata, exported files, or precise location to AppMetrica or Sentry. AppMetrica is configured without location tracking, and the Android build excludes the AppMetrica advertising identifiers module. The app does not use advertising SDKs and we do not sell users' personal data.
The app uses the INTERNET permission for links, analytics, and error reports. The app does not request access to contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, calendar, location, payment data, or permanent access to all device files. Access to a medical file is granted by the user through the system file picker only for the selected file.
InetTools does not receive or share selected medical files with third parties. Technical analytics and diagnostics data may be shared with AppMetrica/Yandex and Sentry. If the user sends an exported PNG or JSON file through the Android share menu, further handling depends on the selected app or service.
Users can delete temporary files and settings through Android system settings or by uninstalling the app. Because medical files are not uploaded to InetTools servers, no separate deletion of server copies is required.
The app is not specifically intended for children and does not provide registration, user content publishing, in-app purchases, or communication between users.
We may update this policy when the app, analytics, diagnostics, network features, or legal requirements change. The current version is published on this page.
